Limewire crashes at start-up

I downloaded Limewire as an RPM, converted it with Alien and installed. Everything has worked fine for a couple of weeks until suddenly it now crashes on start-up. It gets to the 'initializing core components' and just stops, my mouse still moves but can't access anything.
I've tried removing it with Synaptic and then re-installing but same thing.

Thanks for any help.

Eric

Problem solved!

For some reason re-installing Java sorted the problem. I un-installed Limewire first then did a Java re-install and stuck Limewire back on again, hey presto! problem solved.
I know it wasn't Limewire because i'd tried re-installing it before.

Thanks for your help.

Ok this is a weird one.

I thought that my Limewire problems as detailed above were solved and i also decided to install Frostwire instead. Guess what? Same Java problem with Frostwire although it ran fine first time.
It's strange but it looks like i'm going to have to re-install Java every time i want to boot Limewire or Frostwire!!
I'm running the Blackdown Java from Breezy, should i install a different one? is it a Linux virus (although i've run Freshclam), can i fix it?.
I've tried GTK-Gnutella which works but seems really slow downloading.

Thanks in advance

Eric
