libg2c.so.0 problem

Hello. I need the file libg2c.so.0 in order to install a module in Python. I get this error message:

ImportError: libg2c.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I've looked for this libg2c.so.0 file, and it doesn't exist on my system. Is it a part of gcc? Because I have gcc installed.
I will be grateful for any hints of how to solve this.

If your Linux version is rpm based visit; http://rpm.pbone.net/ enter the search term;libg2c.so.0 and download/install the rpm file for your version of Linux. If not then locate the libg2c package for your version of Linux and install it.
