libdvdcss

I am running Suse 10.0. I am using Kaffeine as my DVD player. I downloaded the codec libdvdcss-1.2.9.tar.gz and extracted it to my home folder. I ran ./configure, etc. and installed it without a problem.

How do I use that codec with my player? Im still not getting any DVD play back.

Add the Packman repository and update.

Woo Hoo! (Sorry, I know that's not dignified, but...)

Installed mplayer from Packman's Repository. At present I have an episode of Northern Exposure playing in Linux! Only hitches were working out that I needed to use "gmplayer" to open it with a Graphical interface, and then that the errors I got at first were because I tried opening the DVD while I had a radio programme playing in RealPlayer.

Another reason to return to Windows removed.

Rob.
