KWrite Backup Files (~)

Everytime I save a file in Kwrite, it creates a backup file with the same name except ~ after it. I do not want it to do this. Is there are way to stop it?

Sometimes I wonder :)

Look under Settings -> Configure Editor -> Open/Save -> Backup files

And I don't even USE KWrite ... fired it up for the first
time in years, took me 10 seconds to find the setting.

Cheers,
Tink

how to backup kwrite files to /usr/tmp ?

But what if I want to make the backup file and put it in another directory i.e. /usr/tmp and not in the same local file where the original is?

I tried putting /usr/tmp or /usr/tmp/ as a prefix to the file, but that does not work.
