ktorrent install problems

I'm trying to install ktorrent onto Mandriva 2007. I have downloaded the tar, uncompressed it and run ./configure

It gets to the end and says:

----------------------------------------------------------
KTorrent ERROR:
KTorrent requires gmp (http://www.swox.com/gmp)
----------------------------------------------------------

Good - your configure finished. Start make now

I have looked and according to control centre I have libgmp installed. However, if I run make I do get errors. Running make check, it bombs out here:

./../mse/bigint.h:93: error: ‘mpz_t’ does not name a type
make[2]: *** [peermanager.lo] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/robertw/Installs/ktorrent-2.0.3/libktorrent/torrent'
make[1]: *** [check-recursive] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/robertw/Installs/ktorrent-2.0.3/libktorrent'
make: *** [check-recursive] Error 1

I tried downloading gmp, did the same ./configure - whhhc seems to work fine, then make check and this time got at the end:

/bin/sh ../libtool --mode=link gcc -m32 -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -mtune=pentium4 -march=pentium4 -o libtests.la memory.lo misc.lo refmpf.lo refmpn.lo refmpq.lo refmpz.lo spinner.lo trace.lo x86call.lo x86check.lo ../libgmp.la
libtool: link: cannot find the library `../libgmp.la'
make[4]: *** [libtests.la] Error 1

This libgmp.la file is in the directory I uncompressed the tar into.

Anyone got any clues as to what I am missing here?! Is gmp really installed? If so, why does ktorrent install not see it?! Is there a certain directory I need to do the install from?

If I need to post any additional information please ask. I am not really sure exactly what I am doing here!

Why not just install Ktorrent using the Software tool in Mandriva. Go to easyurpmi and configure the main, contrib, updates and plf repos. After that just do
Code:
#urpmi ktorrent

Well, not totally sure what that did, but it worked. Thanks very much! I assume it's added extra rpms I can install that didn't come on the DVD.

I did do a google search for an rpm for ktorrent and could only find ones for Fedora.

Thanks again!
