Question Kppp DNS config problem

Hi

I was wondering if any one can help me solve a small problem with my non-root users Kppp setup.

The problem is that for some reason my non-root users kppp config has the DNS set to "manual" instead of "Automatic" as root does, the "Automatic" tick box is greyed out and non responsive, everything else with the set up is fine.

I was wondering how I can resolve this, is there simple txt config file I can edit to solve this or are more drastic measures needed?

I'm running a knoppix hard drive install (Debian Unstable) with KDE 3.0

(And I gotta learn to spell Debian correctly )

I had the same problem and this is the second site where I found an old post of this question with no answer. Strangely enough, replacing the user's kppprc file with a copy of root's didn't do it, but this did.

Just give everyone read permission for the ppp options file:

chmod 604 /etc/ppp/options

Now the Automatic DNS Configuration option should be selectable by non-root accounts.
