konsole for a user


ok so its been forever since i created a user on a linux box so i googled and found what i could but for some reson when i open the console this is what i get

sh-3.00$
sh-3.00$ login
login: "username"
Password:

Session setup problem, abort.
sh-3.00$

can anyone tell me what i did wrong or how to fix it pleeeaaassseee

if you want to run a login shell try xterm -l or whichever you use so you open up a login shell.

ok i tried your suggest and all it did was open an xterm with the same prompt


sh-3.00$

i think i screwed up when i added the user

the only online help i could find said to use this command

useradd -d /home/"username" -m -k /etc/skel -s /bin/sh "username"

xterm -ls opens a login shell, sorry my mistake.

That also gives the same result But I definately appreciate the suggestion I've been working on it all night and havent gotten anywhere even googling and unfortunately the manual didnt do much for me either.
