Know their difference

Hi,
Is "CentOS 6.5" totally different from any one of the following?

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Update 7
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Update 2
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP2
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11

Yes it is different than the listed. First off, it is a different VERSION. It is 6.5, those are 4.7 and 5.2. And SUSE is a whole different thing.

What are you trying to get to work?

fyi: Centos is not the unpaid version of Red Hat. It is a community compile of some of the OpenSourced Red Hat sources,.. but NOT all of them. Red Hat didn't start, nor does it 'own' Centos. Also a lot of Centos packages are different and community maintained. There are vast differences between Red Hat and Centos.

Hi,

CentOS is a Free (freedom) and free (gratis) GNU/Linux distribution based on the Free (freedom) and non-free (paid for support and updates) RHEL (Redhat Enterprise Linux) distribution produced by the company Redhat. Recently CentOS has become an official project of Redhat.
