Kinda Multiple Moniters

I have a laptop and a moniter. And everything recognizes my moniter as a moniter and my laptop screen nonexistant. I can use the FN key on the laptop to switch to either or both of the moniters, and thats a hassle to do every time it boots up. How can I make my laptop screen usable so I can just drag a window between the two? Even Windows wants to use both moniters by default, but still says I have 1 moniter. And I don't know the refresh rates and stuff of my laptop screen, only my moniter.

Well, first I want to make it so the desktop is on my moniter at x11s startup (usually its blank), windows, slax, and freespire all do this fine

saax and other things can't detect my laptop sceen as a moniter, and don't know if anything can be added (or what to add) to /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Then once that works I'll mess with extending my desktop to both.
