kdevelop upgrade ?

I’ve read the kdevelope docs, but I’m still not sure what to do. I am new to Linux so sorry if the question seems trivial. I am running SuSE 9.0 and want to use kdevelop for C++ application development. The version that was installed with the distro was 2.1 and I want to upgrade to 3.2. Do I need to uninstall 2.1 to install 3.2? Also, where is a good place to get general and basic HOWTO’s on Linux file installation and compiling?

You don't need to AFAIK, but I would. You better check what the dependencies are first. Kdevelope may require a new Qt and so forth. Meaning unless you're knowledgeable with it, it's better to get a new distro. Go http://www.kdevelop.org/ for more info

As a matter of fact, I look here;
http://www.kdevelop.org/index.html?f...uirements.html
shows you need, to name a frew;
KDE >= 3.2
Qt >= 3.2.3
