KDE 3.4.2 trash problem

My Home partition filled up pretty quickly and I couldnt understand as I had deleted loads of movies etc.

I looked through my home folder and determined that '/home/ric/.local/share/Trash/files/' is the problem.Ive now emptied this folder and reclaimed 25GB.

Ive always seamed to have a problem with the trash, takes ages to empty (I created another user and tried in their home directory without problems).

The trash icon displays when it has stuff in, and shows empty when I empty trash but the files are left in '/home/ric/.local/share/Trash/files/' and are not being removed.

any suggestions?

thanks

Only thing I can think of is delete the trash can and recreate one like the details from this post.

Problem solved.

I somehow managed to 'move to trash' a few files I didnt have permission to delete.
I removed the contents of '/home/ric/.local/share/Trash/files/' as root and every thing is hunky dory.

thanks for the reply.
