kde 3.4.2 switch user crashes system

I have Slackware 10.1 and upgraded KDE to 3.4.2. When I choose switch user I can lock session and create new session, then log in as another user. But when I go to switch back to the old session, it crashes the whole system. It turns the monitor off and just does nothing.

I am using the generic kdmrc

Any ideas on why this is causing my system to completely crash.

Well, worked this one out. It was a problem with dri. All I had to do was remove the loading of the module in xorg.conf and it worked.

Also another thing people can try is to not use framebuffer in lilo, eg use vga=normal instead
