Hi,

I have been using KDE 3.2.3 without any problems for a while. I recently upgraded to KDE 3.3 and since then I have been having this weird problem - when I try to logout, the system freezes. None of the keys respond. I cannot get a console by doing Ctrl-Alt-Backspace and the only way out is a system reset . .xsession-errors has nothing meaningful .

I am using a 3Dfx Voodoo3 video card. I have never had problems with 3.2.3 - this started happening only after I switched to 3.3 .

Has anyone else faced the same problem ??

I do not have a solution; same trouble but three things work to varing degree:
Slay the user from a midnight commander on tty2: poor, Telnet in, su and service dm stop: fair

and last open a root terminal and service dm stop. Then yo may reboot or restart the dm or shut down.

Keep lookin, some one out ther has it figured out
