kate question

Hi I have used a windows text editor (Notepad++) which has set a benchmark for my requirements. As I tend to use linux most of the time I have been looking for a similar editor for some time. Kate is ticking most boxes. 2 things I can’t see which I would like if anyone could advise:
  • You can “find selected” within the current file. IE. highlight a string for searching. I can’t see the ability to do the same in “all files”. Does this exist?
  • In NPP I can search for a string in "all files currently open" within the editor. Does this facility exist in Kate?

TIA

I don't think kate has these features. One GUI editor I occasionally summon does.

Komodo - despite the K in the name it's not a KDE app ;D

Cheers,

It is possible to search a string in all files currently open.
In a same session with multiple files you an use "F3" to search a string.

cheers!!
