K3b/cdrdao .bin burning problem

Hi, everyone.

I need help for a very nasty problem I've experienced. When I try burning a cue/bin image in K3b, it says that either the burner or the disc does not support the current burning speed do it switches to speed 0x (so I can't burn the disc) It is important to note that this happens only with the 5 bin/cue images I'm trying to burn, otherwise the program runs just fine.

I use K3b 0.11.12 and cdrdao 1.1.9, running on Slackware 10.0.

Thanks in advance.

PS. I tried using cdrdao from xterm with the following command
cdrdao write --speed 24 --device ATAPI:0,0,0 the-cue-file and got an error

Starting write ERROR: Cannot retrieve drive capabilities mode page

Could anything be wrong with the burner (Note: it burns other discs OK)
