Which part of Canada (I hear it's a big place) - isn't there a joke Vancouver folk have about British asking them to pass on regards to relatives in Toronto, and they say "You pass on your regards - you're nearer!".

Gives us details of what you you can't get working (Manufacturer, Model, [chipset?]) and I'm sure we can get it running.

Welcome, welcome Recoil.

For now I am to much as newbie to even bother asking for your sake. But if you want to know.

I am from Abbotsford B.C. Near Vancover

I am running RedHat 8

The mouses is a MX700 ligitec and I think I may have found the anser to installing it's extra mouses buttens http://p-two.net/modules.php?op=modl...=article&sid=2 but I wouldent have a clue on how to do that. (I think it was a thread on this board that had the link)

Next the Video card is a MSI Geforce TI 4400 128MB
and I think I may have found the driver for it
http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp but I don't know what linux one to download or install.

Also I have the strangest feeling that it is not using My AMD Athlon XP 21000 to it's full potenchal.

Now you don't have to exsplain anything I conpleatly understand I know how hard it is to get peopel to do 'simple' things over the phone I don't exspect anyone to have to exspain how to do compleacated Linux things over the net.

p-two.net ? Don't go there! (Just kidding. I think ... think ... that's Aussie's website. Aussie is a moderator here)

Post the output of:

more /etc/X11/XF86Config

and to check your system utilizing your processor properly, also post the output of:

dmesg

and just download the IA32 driver from the NVidia site.

Download the redhat .rpm driver files you need 2 the kernel driver & glx driver IA32 is Intel 32 bit CPU, IA64 is Intel 64 bit CPU & AMD64 is 64 bit AMD CPU. Well I think, I am not sure about that.
