Question JBOD in Ubuntu?

Is there a way to set up JBOD in Ubuntu?

I have:
80GB OS Drive Dedicated

RAID5:
2TB
2TB
2TB
1TB
1TB

What I'd like to do is create two JBOD arrays:
2TB
2TB

2TB
1TB
1TB

And mirror them together. I already have Ubuntu Desktop 64-bit up and running, but there is no option that I see for setting up JBOD.

I'm not that familiar with newer Ubuntu versions, but I believe you would accomplish the same thing with LVM (Logical Volume Management), which would allow you to concatenate the disks into logical volumes as you describe. Check out http://sourceware.org/lvm2/.

The mirroring would be by setting up a RAID1 array of logical volumes. I do this all the time on servers.
