just look at "cat /proc/ide/hdX/media"

where X is the ide name a, b, c etc... the media file will tell you what device it is conencted to that channel.

where does the startup firmware log gets stored

Hi
I would like to know where does the firmware log during the boot get stored.
Is there a way in which i can run those commands later to probe to get which type of hardisk , cdrom etc...
And use it with busybox scriipts to format the harddisk.

maybe any info on boots loader ...bootstraper etc

i thought would use sfdisk...but that really does not serve the purpose as...
i have to give the /dev/sdx or /dev/hdX.....

thanks
