Is there a Download Accelerator for Linux?

Hi all

Is there a Download Accelerator available for Linux?
I'm aware that there are a few Download Managers
but I want something of a Download Accelerator (like Windows has Download Accelerator Plus) which SPEEDS up or ACCELERATES downloads.

Is there any such thing available under Linux?

Note: I've tried Downthemall firefox extension but it hardly makes any difference to the download speed

"download manager" like Flashget in windows?
firefox have Flashgot, Down them All and etc...they let u download upto 10x faster...
if that's what u are looking for then, install firefox and add plugins...
