Is Mozilla Firefox pre installed in RHEL 6/5/4?

HI ,

I wanted to know if Mozilla Firefox browser comes as a preinstalled package in RHEL 6/5/4 or we need to install it seperately?
Providing a pdf or any web links of Red Hat mentioning all the preinstalled packages would be more helpful?

thanks in advance ..waiting for an answer.

Dinesh

why would redhat state it's not installed?? rhel 6.4 has FX17 on the media. Just install it. Reading your question, I mostly get the sense that you're not familiar with how linux software works. It's just not the sort of question anyone familiar with package management would ask.

The correct answer is "It depends".

A default RHEL install will use the Basic setting, which will not include Firefox by default. The Desktop setting will include Firefox.

Have a look here for the possible Package Groups: 9.18. Package Group Selection

As already stated by acid_kewpie: You can add Firefox during or after the installation.

BTW: Here's a short list of packages available for Red Hat EL: Distrowatch - Red Hat Enterprise Linux
