Is it possible to make Firefox use esound

As the title says.

I access a virtual Slack 13.37 system, with KDE 4.6.5, using NoMachine's NX.

By forwarding the sound, I can get the system sounds, and Xine locally, but nothing from Firefox.

Cheers.

I was intrigued by this myself, so I googled and perhaps googling for "firefox_dsp esd" may help you a little.
The results mostly seem to relate to getting OSS to work but you may be able to adapt something.
