Hello all,
I need an IRC server along with password protected accounts. Mostprobably the accounts will come from a mysql database. This is for a govt purpose. Currently the server is RH8. so i need it in that platform. Also it will be best if i get an rpm for this. and ofcourse a good man page to set up. But mandatory conditions are:

os: RH8, Fedora 4,5 (all will be used)
users are from mysql for pass & id

And optional but highly preferable is rpm. and also suporting vhost.

can any body help??

You could probably go with hyperion-ircd which freenode uses which was based originally from dancer-ircd. Most should work with most platforms. Although, RH8 is kind of old, I'd be more worried about the OS it's running on rather than the IRCD running..

Thanx for the reply... already have some planning to upgrade... that's why looking for FC too....
