internet play for d1 or d2 in Linux ?

Is there anything like Kali for Linux that would work for hosting/playing descent 1 or descent 2 online?

There's a Kali by the same fella, Jay Cotton,
for Linux out there ... a few old-timers on
Kali are actually using D1x linux (RedOmen
for one) ... I've never tried it (for gaming), and
I don't know if Kali-networks still offer the
Linux version.

It's only a command-line tool, but there's
a GTK front-end to it.
