Hey i wonder whether there is any way to install WINDOWS 2000 after installing Linux. I've Red Hat 9 installed and want to install windows 2000, but i don't want to re-install Linux.
If you can create a primary partition to use you should be o.k.
I'm guessing all the ntldr based systems since NT 4 allow you to install anywhere. Win98 was different and *did* need to be on the first partition.
Win2000 *will* over-write the MBR. You will have to rerun lilo, or grub-install to rectify.
Of course, you don't have to - you can load Linux from boot.ini. It's just a bit more messy to achieve.
That's Micro$oft for you.
