Installing MySQL in RedHat Linux 9.0 RPM


Hi

I am using RHL 9.0 I want to install MySQL in my system I got the src code and try to compile that but its giving some error and told that cannot proceed further so I tried RPM. In this also its installed the MySQL successfully but when I am trying to connect the mysql its telling that cannot connect using /tmp/mysql.sock what may be the problem any solution for this.

Perhaps the MySQL Server was not running.

Shell> /etc/init.d/mysqld start
