installing Kino can't find libdv

Hey all, I'm trying to compile Kino. I keep getting the error:

checking libdv/dv.h usability... yes
checking libdv/dv.h presence... yes
checking for libdv/dv.h... yes
checking for dv_is_normal_speed in -ldv... no
configure: error: Unable to link with libdv. Check that you have libdv installed and that the version is 0.102 or newer

I went through and installed lilbdv 0.102 without any problems, but I'm still getting this error. Any ideas?

thanks. . .shawn

I am having the same difficulties only I am trying to install kino-0.7.1 and just installed libdv0.98 and libdv-devel0.98. All came from Kino's website, so it really should work... Let me know if you have found/find the solution.

Try adding /usr/local/lib to /etc/ld.so.conf and then do "ldconfig" at a command prompt as root. That might do it.

I just figured it out. I didn't have all of the software requirements posted on the site installed, although I did meet the one for having libdv. Oh well, it's up and running now.

Thanks for your help!
