installing imap

Hi,

I am trying to setup a mail server using sendmail and imap. i have both installed using rpm -ivh. i can telnet both port 25 and 110 from localhost. However, i can't telnet from remote computer through port 110.

when i check netstat -an, i see 0.0.0.0:110. so i assume that its accepting incoming through port 110. so im all confused now.

please advice, thanks in advance

justin

i would assume your running DHCP (dial up, DSL/Cable), you might want to check your network settings and configure the DHCP Host and name it whatever your domain name is.

If you're not running a domain name.. i think you still might be able to use your IP address.

Give a whirl and come back if it doesnt work
