Ok, I am completely new to Redhat and linux in general. I installed Redhat last night in a 10 gig partition that I had made for it. I also have a 50 gig partition for Windows 98. When it asked me where the windows loader was located I didnt know and I took a guess. I thought it was on the first partition so I told it to boot the first one. Well, needless to say it doesnt boot and askes for the location of windows interpreter or something like that. (it gives an example C:\windows\command.com)
but I cant get it to load. So I go back to RH and try to see if I can get any of my files from that partition, but in the /mnt directory there is nothing but my CD-Rom, DVD-Rom, and Floppy drive. Do you think I
F'ed my Windows partition?
This is a particular problem with newbies, as they surely destroy their win partition on their first install. Don't worry as I destroyed my win partitions three times before even I installed RH correctly.
Give more details about the bootloader you used and what OS you set as default.
Well, I am using the GRUB bootloader and it is set that my Windows 98 should be default if no choice is made in 10 seconds, but if it tries to boot win 98 I get this message.
Code:
Booting ' Winows 98'
rootnoverify (HD0,0)
chainload+1
Starting Windows 98
Type the name of the Command Interpreter (eg., C:\Windows\Command.com)
