Okay here is the scoop guys. I have recently installed Linux on my system and I generally understand how it works. I am trying to install Hamachi. Everything goes good up to the command "Hamachi start". When I run this command all that happens is this:
tap: bad response from tuncfg - 02000015
open ("/dev/net/tun") failed with 21 (Is a directory)
I cannot seem to resolve this problem. I searched your forums and the closest thing I found was the following thread. It did not resolve the problem though.
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...machi.-409344/
so can anyone help me out.
FYI: I am using a Debian distrobution.
EDIT: Okay I have managed to work around this problem but now I am presented with a new error message:
18 23:01:02.748 [ 0] [ 2717] tap: bad response from tuncfg - 02000013
18 23:01:02.749 [ 0] [ 2717] open('/dev/net/tun') failed with 19 (No such device)
Again, I tried the fix in the link mentioned above but the problem has not resolved.
I think it may be a problem with TUNTAP but I cannot be sure. According to
http://www.hamachi.cc/tuntap/ for 2.4 it says I need to add the following line into /etc/modules.conf:
alias char-major-10-200 tun
however, I do not know where to add it. Do I add it to the end of file. the readme does not specify. Any thoughts?
