Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I'm relatively new to linux so please be patient with me. If I sound like I dont know what I'm talking about thats probably the case but i will try none the less..
Ok, I'm running RedHat 7.3 Pro on a x86 duron 850, 352 mb sdram, 48Gb store, epox MainBoard etc..
The ColdFusion Installer has no extension and is a shell script.
I log in as root, KDE if that helps, open up a term window, run the install file, tried from the /root directory and / , /usr/share/cf etc
throw the command #sh CF_Installer
have tried specif. dirs.. etc and the same thing happens everytime...
Starts unTARing the JRE and has a error outputting the text "This download of the installer is corrupt, please download again and retry" something like that anyway..
Now of course one would think 'ok, its corrupt' but apparently thats not the case.
The trial came with a magazine that I bought from nextmedia and i have contacted them and they assure me that the file is fine and that they have had no complaints about the CD's for that Handbook.
So I think maybe one in a million the CD itself is dead, but everything else on the disc werks fine, that and the fact that the file itself transfered faultlessly a few times onto the HDD.
