Unhappy Install SSH on debian with no monitor...

Hello,

I know this is a very odd request, but could someone give me the step by step keystrokes needed to install/enable SSH or TELNET on a debian box blind (i.e. with no monitor).

I basically need it as though you start at the login prompt - e.g.

bob<enter>
password<enter>
sudo apt-get xxxxxxxxx<enter>
<enter>
Y<enter>
enable ssh<enter>

...etc

or whatever it maybe so I can login in and install SSH to enable remote access without actually seeing what I am doing (no monitor). So then I can SSH into the headless box from my laptop and start configuring - btw, it is a fresh install of the latest debian linux OS.

See I said it was a weird request - I'd be so grateful if someone could help!

Thanks,
Richard.

It is not weird, I have computers without a monitor all the time

Do you have a local keyboard attached, or not? If not, it is gonna be difficult, even next to impossible, as Debian does not have ssh or telnet enabled by default. You also need the root password. Do you have that?

Uhm.. how could you do the install without monitor? Or without knowing the root pwd?
