install Chinese fonts


Can I install Chinese fonts in my firefox without log in as root? I am using centOS.

Yes, you can.

Assuming some Truetype font, throw the font into the directory .fonts in your home directory, call

fc-cache -f -v

Restart Firefox and your new font should be listed in Firefox' font dialogue.

I have all my fonts in .fonts; I don't bother to install them globally on my notebook.

If you don't have it, just add it with mkdir .fonts in your home directory.
