Inance Metacity Question

I'm using RH9.0 with Metacity (or Bluecurve or whatever), and I want to know if there is a way to make windows either open in the center of the screen, or more preferably where they were when they were closed? I tried looking at GConf, but I couldn't find anything about that. As it is, they all open at the top left corner of the screen and it's mighty annoying.

Any advice?

Phil
