I got the application installed correctly, but now I'm seeing this when I try to run it from the commandline:
[laura@cleopatra ~]$ whale
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/whale", line 16, in ?
from whale import Whale
File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/whale/__init__.py", line 11, in ?
from Whale import Whale
File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/whale/Whale.py", line 12, in ?
from xml.dom import Node, ext
ImportError: cannot import name ext
[laura@cleopatra ~]$
Does anyone know what this means? The application is written in python and uses pyperl. I installed pyperl successfully, and have an acceptable version of python installed - I just don't know what else it wants. Google is no help at all...
No, I had version 0.2. and there seems to be no make uninstall, so I'm stuck with it. On the grounds that I couldn't really screw anything up more than it already is, I downloaded 0.2.3 and installed that over top of 0.2.
Result: same error message, although now it's on line 23 instead of 16, and on 13 rather than 12 :-)
Random question - this wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that although I have the gnome libraries installed, I don't actually *use* gnome...would it?
I just tried to install it and it is old,it uses python 2.2.I would try to find something else. http://www.freedos.org/jhall/ipod/
I don't have one so don't really know what you need
