Hi guys.

Im looking for a IM Client that works fine with the Windows Live MSN Protocol on Fedora 8.

Ive try installing Kopete, aMSN, Pidgin (2.2), Empathy, and some others and i cant log on.

Ive reading and i think cause is that the clients used in Fedora 8 works with an old MSN protocol... the new is Windows Live protocol... but i cant update or install an updated version of some of that softwares to make it run.

Pidgin does not support packages for Fedora 8.
Empathy dont show MSN on account types.
Others just dont login.

I hope that i can get some good help here.

Fedora versions are only updated for 13 mths; F8 is long gone. F12 is the current one (iirc). I'd advise getting that one.
If you want a long term supported/updated distro, try Centos (free version of RHEL).

Thank you, im migrating the clients to CentOS 5.4 now its better have an updated and supported OS.

By the way, the MNS issue with Fedora 8 clients was resolved... ive added a repository from google then just:

yum -y update pidgin

And pidgin update to 2.6.
