Illegal Seek error from Motion

I am trying to get Motion 3.0.7 running with a Dlink DCs900W wireless webcam. Running on Redhat 9.0 with kernel 2.4.20. I have modified my motion.conf to look at teh correct IP address. I get this error message and the program terminates with no other output. Any words of wisdom appreciated, thanks.

p.s. Yes, I am a NEWBIE and this is the first program I've tried to compile.

[root@Linux-1 motion-3.0.7]# motion
