Assuming you're running KDE, try Kmid - it's a midi player, not a full audio production suite like Rosegarden or Muse.

i gave it a try.. still no sound... Ive read that others with my sound card have similar problems.. I have a SoundBlaster Live using the emu10k1 module.

I just need midi support so I can do some recording

More specifics kernel 2.6.7 / Alsa 1.06 (going to try the latest)
Slackware 10

Ive read that I need the AWE32/64 drivers,, I found an old version but it does not seem to work with 2.6 kernel, the CVS were supposedly at one time available through creative.. but not any longer..
