I need a new distro...
I've been using Slack for about 4-5 years now, I've tryed a few other distro's. Namely, Redhat 7 (I think it was 7) Mandrake and some bootable CD's. The problem that I have is that I want a new distro, something to play with. I'm pretty experienced so I don't want something for linux kiddies. Tell me why your favorite distro is the best.
I'm still kind of a newb, but I've used knoppix, redhat, slack, and mandrake, but they are no comparison whatsoever to gentoo. I just switched to gentoo a few days ago and it is "supah-pimp". I'm sure it'd be perfect for you if you've been using linux for a few years. It lets you do everything yourself! The emerge command is a wonderful alternative to rpm's and the like. I'll never go back!
Fedora is one of the more 'user friendly' distros like Mandrake, I found Fedora Core 3 very bloated and after 3 or 4 hours I decided that it was time to move away from Fedora Core (I had used Fedora Core 2 for a few months previously).
