i can't find gtk-config script


i downloaded gtk 2.6 from ftp://ftp.gtk.org/pub/gtk/v2.6/ and installed without errors but i can't find gtk-config , i installed with this command

./configure && make && make install

help me.

gtk2 doesn't have a gtk-config script, it uses the pkgconfig framework instead. I assume you are trying to compile an app that actually uses gtk+, not gtk2, which is a different library.

but why are you installing something like gtk2 from source? unless you really know why yopu're doing this as opposed to using the versions already present on your mandrake cds, you really shouldn't for one thing, you've probably already got gtk2 installed, and by installing it again from source, you might well have totally broken both installations, as you'll have some files from one being used, the rest from other versions... really not good form.
