how to set transmission range and data rate on 802.11p

hi,

I'm using the 802.11p (NS2.33), I understand that in order to set the transmission range I need to modify the value of Pt_ , whose default value is given 0.1
I want to set the transmission range of my 802.11p node to 250 meters. What
value should I put in Pt_ ?

Do I need to change any other variable as well? Some solutions suggest to
modify RxThresh value as well. This value, however, is not present in the
802.11p parameters.

Also how can I set the data rate, e.g. to 2mbps?

thkx

It sounds to me like you wasnt to download the datasheet for whatever comms chip you are usingriting software for and read it.

The handiest was to limit the data rate is not to do 802.11n at all, but to fall back to 802.11b or maybe g. 802.11n is the one that uses fancy stuff and 2 aerials to send further to a single aerial and you put yourself through it to get a higher bandwidth one way - e.g. the modem can transmit a wifi download faster than the pc can upload. You have speeds of up to 300mb/s (guess who has been cramming for a digital comms exam! :-).

Before anyone can offer constructive help we'd need a lot more detail than you provide.
