how to renew ip in basic linux (slackware) ??


hi everyone
i know debian and ubuntu but i dont know slackware.

i got this mini linux that can run in a 386 with 8mb ram and with GUI
really awesome.

but i dont know how to renew ip or setup the network card.

i tried ifconfig but i see the loopback only nt ip.
i tried ipconfig eth0 up and nothing.
