Hi

you are right, there is not a way to print in bluefish. I just checked mine and theres
not a way to print. There is nothing on the bluefish website either about printing.

You can open the file in gedit and print from there. on my laptop,
I right clicked and selected open with, then text editor, which in my case is gedit.
gedit will maintain the html formatting and color code it too.

you may need to install gedit first.

This may not be the answer your looking for, but it is a work around that is not
to trouble some.

Thanks Vanessa,

I glad that I'm not the only one who can't find the print function in Bluefish. It is little strange that you can print in Bluefish and that there is so less to find about it on the web.
For printing and editing I use now Screem or Quanta Plus. They are also pretty good editors but have more features for editing php-html and css files.

Smile Printing from Bluefish 1.0.7

I run Ubuntu 10.04LTS - still the latest official LTS until October 2012 - and Bluefish 1.0.7 is the current default version. Here's an extension of Vanessa's printing in gedit suggestion but this way is slightly easier.

As Vanessa says, you need to install gedit, e.g. for Ubuntu type:
sudo apt-get install gedit

Then open Bluefish and from Edit - Preferences - External Programs - Utilities and filters - Add:
Under Label type:
gedit
Under Command type:
/usr/bin/gedit '%s'&

This opens your saved file (note it MUST be saved) in gedit in the background. So to print a file from Bluefish you just go to External - Commands - gedit and this will open your file in gedit, which has the option to print. Even if you forget to close gedit after printing and accidentally edit it from there - save your file and close gedit. Back in Bluefish you should be presented with a dialogue which says that the current file has been altered by another process and do you wish to reload it. Answer "Yes."
