Murphy's law struck. Between my tovid install and yours the kirya repository must have been updated. Looking at my output;

Unfortunately the gui portion of .27 has a known bug as you can see from the link provided in my previous post. Reading that link, have you tried the fix suggested by the developer?

If the fix doesn't work the developer will sort it out soon. In the meantime Tovid should work fine from the command line. How to do this is well documented on the homepage.

Sorry but I don't know what else to suggest. Downgrading to .26 really isn't the route I would take.
