How to get rid of multiple bad image errors?

Whenever I open up any program or just start my computer, multiple bad image errors pop up and I am forced to close all of them by pushing "ok." Everything is fully functional that I know of, but I would like to fix them. I have tried checking the system but it doesn't work. I have AVG Antivirus and Registry Defense installed. It has supposedly fixed things but the error messages still pop up.
Would a malware remover work?
If so what would be a good one?

Hi,

I see you have AVG and "Registry Defense" installed. So am I assuming right that this is happening on a windows computer? If yes, then please notice that this is a Linux forum and most people probably are not very familiar with troubleshooting windows (either that or they don't bother any more).

Here is one of the best malware removal procedures I know of:
1.) Boot windows and copy ALL your important and precious data to an external harddrive
2.) Choose a Linux distro that appeals to you from here: http://distrowatch.com/
3.) Install Linux
4.) boot Linux and copy ALL your important and precious data from the external harddrive to your new Linux home directory
5.) Do not use windows unless you absolutely have to

This has been working for me for years now.
