How to get KDE Konsole to Dark Mode under GNOME?
On my phone running GNOME/phosh on Droidian (based on Debian Bookworm), I decided I prefer Konsole instead of the provided kingcross terminal due to easier to copy/paste text. But it didn't automatically follow the dark theme I'd enabled in gnome-control-center.
So after some research, I tried installing qt5ct which is a QT5 Settings App, which told me to set an environment variable QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct so I did that. None of the default choices appeared dark, so I installed some qt5-style packages: adwaita-qt, kde-style-breeze, qt5-style-ukui, and qt5-style-kvantum.
All of those I added offered dark versions that in the qt5 settings app itself looked dark, but only the kvantum one actually works to make the toolbar in konsole dark. And all the icons that were originally there are gone. And with kvantum then I can't see to edit the profile settings due to lack of contrast, even tho the main toolbar is fine, so it's not what I want anyway.
I have since learned I can also set the style with QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE instead of using the qt5 settings app, but regardless how I set it, I can't get anything dark to work besides kvantum.
I attached two screens; one is default with no env variables set, and the other set for kvantum. I would prefer white on black (instead of grey) - if the HighContrastInverse worked, I might like that, but just like the other dark themes, they didn't affect the toolbar in konsole.
So why won't any of the other dark themes work for konsole besides kvantum? And where did my icons go?
