how to copy cds


i am trying to back up my audio cd library (really i am). is there an app that works like nero?
i have tried K3b (it was installed with my mandrake 9.1 distro) and it is just too slow.

Too slow? You mean CDs take longer to burn or something? They should burn at the same speed.....

what i mean by slow is it takes so long to convert the image to the hard drive to burn to the new cd

Oh, you can burn on the fly, which isn't a great idea to start with, but you can. You may have to write in DAO (Disc at Once) mode for this to work however.

well thats what i mean i dont "burn on the fly" in nero i image the cd tot he hard drive then burn it from there in nero.
with K3b first off it only recognizes my burner in the copy cd dialog which is wierd because in the setup (K3b setup) it recognizes it and i can put an audio cd in and it reads it (not in cd copy mode)
with nero i can copy a cd in about 10 mins, with K3b it takes about 45 mins.
