How to configure Bazaar to connect to the internet through a proxy server

I am trying to use Bazaar CVS version 1.5 on windows, I use a proxy server to connect to the internet. How do i configure Bazaar to use the proxy server?

I have read the docs and have made the authentication.conf file as:
port: 80
host: proxy_IP_address
user: user_name
password: password

and placed it in C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Bazaar\2.0

when i try bzr branch i get th error:
bzr:ERROR:socket.gaierror: (11001,'getaddrinfo failed')

help!
thanks
