how to compile mkdir.c file

Hi all,

I am just curious in learning about coreutils in linux.I have downloaded the source.

I just want to know how it works.I could able to see a file inside src folder called mkdir.c.

I have tried to compile that mkdir.c file using gcc but it didn't worked.Do i need to follow any procedure for that.

I tried compiling a basic c program it worked but compiling mkdir.c file didn't worked.

Your suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks in advance,
Dinesh.

Separate files.c are not supposed to compile in coreutils.

The required files ( lib/configmake.h and src/version.h )
will only be generated, when make is run from the top directory.
