How to bypass DHCP of IPCop relay to Windows DHCP Server

Hello everybody,

I have installed IPCop successfully and configured it correctly. I have a windows 2003 server as my DNS server and i want to use it as my DHCP Server also which is connected to the orange network.

Presently i used IPCop as my DHCP server adn everything works fine. I tried to disable the DHCP from IPCop and use the windows dhcp server but my PC in green network cannot acquire IP address in the DHCP server in orange network.

Is there any additional configuration or addons that i should install for me to be able to use my Windows DHCP server?

Thank you

Is the Win 2003 server on the same subnet as your clients that want to get DHCP?

Hi gclimbo,

Correct me if I am wrong but shouldn't the DHCP server be in your internal LAN (green network)? The Orange Network is meant for DMZ and usually servers in DMZ should have fix IP addresses.

If you treat Orange network as one of your internal LAN, than you should allow connections from your green network to go to the DHCP server on the orange network, vice versa.
