How make copyq clipboard manager ignore keepassxc passwords?
Hi
I'm running:
Mint19
copyq v4.1.0~bionic
keepassxc 2.6.6
I'm trying to make copyq ignore clipboard passwords copied from keepassxc.
I've followed this link and this link.
It "sorta" works where copyq will ignore the first clipboard password. If I keep copying "different" passwords to the clipboard, they are successfully ignored. But as soon as I copy the same password twice in a row, that password shows up in copyq.

Would anyone know a fix for this?
Thanks
The fix is to not copy passwords to the clipboard at all, but use keepassxc's AutoType feature instead.
Configurable for every entry, usually goes by window title, but other options exist I believe (window title is 99% good enough for me).

Ah, I had never thought of that. I'll give it a try.
Well, auto-type is a bust. I have it set to always prompt, but it doesn't. If you don't have the correct field or window selected first, you could be entering your password where you don't want it, and there is no prompt. I've heard read reports of people inadvertently "googling" their password.
It's funny, I currently have what I would call a crude but well-understood method for storing passwords (probably not unlike most people) and I thought I'd step-it-up with a password manager. Just 2 seconds into trying-out a password manager I'm running into all kinds of insecure bugs. I mean, it's not even like it worked for months and I ran into some obscure bugs, it's "boom" bug-city right out of the box! I give up, back to the old crude but effective method ;-)

Sorry about that, I'm always getting prompted. relevant settings look like in the screenshot below.
keepassxc 2.6.6.
I think some people give up way too easily where FLOSS is concerned - maybe they think "it's open source, it must be buggy"?
I have been using keepassxc for years now, it's definitely secure enough if used correctly, and stable.
I cannot vouch for Linux Mint though.
